The Micat Ferry terminal is a short 4WD from Castaway Units. However, if don’t have your own 4WD vehicle, then Castaway will arrange a transfer for its guests.
Castaway offers three two-bedroom holiday units and two three-bedroom holiday units. Each unit is tastefully decorated and is fully self-contained. They feature a large kitchen, bathroom, and an open concept floor plan which is perfect for entertaining.
Dormitories are available for large groups of up to 39 people. The bunkbed arrangement is connected to private bathrooms, a private kitchen, and lounging area. Perfect for large families or tour groups!
Castaway Glamping Tents
Castaway’s glamping tents were made for travelers who want to a bit more luxury out of their camping experience. The glamping tents can accommodate two to four people.
They feature a bathroom en suite, queen sized bed (and bunkbeds in the larger tents), and large patio’s which look out into the densely forested surroundings. No troublesome set-up and tear down required!
However, keep in mind that each tent is powered by solar energy so there are no power points within the tent.
Bring a portable charger to keep devices turned on (or don’t, and really immerse yourself in Moreton Island’s gorgeous natural surroundings).
The glamping area has a communal kitchen which features barbeques, gas stove tops, a microwave and fridge and comes stocked with all the necessary kitchen crockery and utensils you might need to whip up a meal.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available for any visitors who might need that extra jolt of caffeine. While, the communal fire pit is great for cold evenings and is a great place to meet your neighbors.
Castaways Activities
Kayak, snorkel sets, SUP boards, beach umbrellas and fishing gear are all available for hire at Castaway Units. Not sure where to use it?
The knowledgeable staff at Castaway can point you in the right direction. Caught a fish? The Castaway restaurant can cook it up for a small fee.
Castaway Restaurant and Convenience Store
The iconic thatched roof restaurant at Castaway’s is open for breakfast and lunch on weekdays and dinner on the weekends.
They offer Australian style cuisine in a relaxed setting where no shoes are ever required. Don’t forget to try their egg’s benny and seafood basket while you’re there!
The Castaway convenience and liquor store is stocked with all your island necessities. Whether it be fuel, a beach towel, ice cream for the kids, or your favourite bottle of wine, Castaway’s has it in store.
